Setting Fixtures Annually

The fixtures will be set annually and will be posted below. In order to help members plan holidays etc. in advance of fixtures being finalised, the following competitions are to be used as ‘anchor points’.

1. Club Championship Finals day will be set on the 3rd Saturday in June
2. The Raymond Smart trophy will be set on the 3rd Sunday in May
3. The Whitburgh Cup will be set on the 1st Sunday in June
4. The Pro Day will be set on the Last Saturday in July
5. The Gents Invitational  will be set on the first full weekend in August
6. The Ladies Invitational Greensomes will take place on the same Sunday as day 2 of the Gents Invitational

Other competitions will generally follow the sequence they do most years, although some degree of flexibility is required in setting fixtures – outside of these key fixed competitions.

For those of you who like a pictorial view – we have prepared this calendar. This shows the golf fixtures at Newbattle for 2026. It does not show non-golf events or away team matches, but let’s you see what is on at the course through the golfing season.

Fixture List

The Fixture list can be filtered to show only what you need to see – selecting one or more of the sections and/or categories.

For each club competition that requires a booking, the booking date is shown. This operates slightly differently for each section,

• Gents: the booking date shown is on a Thursday for ALL weekend competition days (9 or 10 days in advance), or on a Tuesday 8 days before a Wednesday competition day.
• Ladies: the booking date shown is the Wednesday approximately 24 days prior to the competition day. Entries close on the Wednesday that is 10/11 days prior to the competition day – to allow unused times to be released.
