This year Newbattle are in Group B alongside reigning champions Longniddry, Baberton, Royal Burgess, Craigmillar Park and Merchants of Edinburgh. You can see how the team are getting on by visiting the League website at  https://edinburghgolfleague.com/

Ladies Team

The Ladies Team competes in the Midlothian Ladies’ five a side league, which consists of Division 1 and Division 2. All matches are played off scratch.
Newbattle Ladies have always competed in Division 2. However last season we achieved a magnificent result by coming second, therefore gaining promotion to Division 1 for 2025. This will be enormously challenging for the team but hugely valuable in experience to everyone. We are going to relish the opportunity!!!

Fixtures

Opposition Date H/A Result Score
Kingsknowe 24/04/25 Home Lost 4 – 1
Baberton 21/05/25 Home Lost 3.5 – 1.5
Comiston 26/05/25 Away Lost 4 – 1
Murrayfield 01/06/25 Away Lost 4.5 – 0.5
Mortonhall 11/06/25 Home Lost 4 – 1
Turnhouse 31/07/25 Away Lost 3.5 – 1.5
Liberton 05/08/25 Away WON 3-2
24/04/25. 1st game loss to Kingsknowe, 4-1, but 3 games did go down to the 18th, so the result not as bad as it sounds
21/05/25. Another 3 games going to 18 in this one, but we unfortunately lost out. Though Baberton are current interclub champions so was always going to be tough
26/05/25. Another tough challenge away from home, with 3 of our team having never played the Braids before.
01/06/25. We always knew that this was going to be a tough season and so it continued to be, with us managing a half point to avoid a whitewash
11/06/25. Another huge challenge, and another consolation point. With 2 tricky away matches to come – our goal is to avoid any whitewashes in this very challenging season
31/07/25. A very good result this one, as every single player from the Turnhouse team had a lower handicap, so picking up 1.5 points away from home was a great achievement
05/08/25. What a way to finish the season. Our first victory – and AWAY from home. The season will end in relegation but that result was a sweet finish and we have gained so much experience this year in division 1.
