Gents Invitational Silloth – 2021

Thanks to everyone who participated in this years invitational Silloth competition, which took place over both days of this weekend (31st July and 1st August 2021).

Silloth is a great event (with the most complex handicapping system known to man) that welcomes guests from other clubs. The competition was,  as ever, played in great spirit, despite the weather on Saturday being a particular challenge on and off throughout the day. There were some terrific scores on both days and the list of winners is attached below – 6 handicap and 2 scratch prizes were awarded – congratulations to the winners

Many thanks to all those who helped on both days; and to the bar staff, catering and greens staff for making the day such a success. We always need volunteers to help make our tournament days run as smoothly as possible, especially where there are external visitors – to welcome them to our course and make their day as enjoyable as possible.

This week we had 2 days of the seniors open, and 2 days of the Silloth. Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped out over these 4 days, in welcoming guests, acting as starters, helping with filling out cards, supplying the refreshment tent etc. A particular mention should go to Ian Sneddon who helped out for fully 4 days this week; but the tournament organisers, and the council in general really appreciate all the help we get from the volunteers in staging these tournaments; so thanks once again to everyone who helped out this week and for previous tournaments. We really cannot stage these sorts of events without this support.

And, here are the results – many congratulations to all the winners. Your vouchers can be picked up in the Pro shop; all vouchers are held under the winning members names for you to share. Also any sweep money for 2s can be picked up in the pro shop.
