Well it was blowing a hooley today, but we had a nearly full card for our final open of the season at Newbattle.
It was a busy day at the club, and the competition committee and the rest of the council at Newbattle would like to thank all our staff and volunteers who have helped stage our opens this year.
The kitchen and bar did great trade and we thank our bar staff and our caterers for keeping the golfers fed and watered throughout the day – great job!
Many thanks also to the greens staff, and volunteers, who prepared the course to an excellent standard once again. We received many plaudits about the quality of the course.
Last but not least, a big thank-you to the guys in the shop and the volunteer starters who got us all registered and set us all away today,
We hope you all enjoyed your golf, and food/drinks to follow, and we look forward to welcoming you back some time in the future. We are just finalising our dates for next year, so keep an eye out on BRS, or Golf Empire for next year’s fixtures.
Prizes are awarded for the top 6 handicap scores today, and the best scratch, and Scottish Golf vouchers will be sent to your home clubs if you were lucky enough to win today. As ever if you qualify for a scratch and a handicap prize, you get awarded the one of the higher value, while the next best placed team will receive the other prize.
